The KU Card is the official University of Kansas identification for students, faculty, staff, and other members of the KU community. It provides access to university facilities, services, cash convenience, and more.
When students receive their KU Card, a stored value account (Beak ‘Em Bucks) is automatically set up and linked to their card. Beak ‘Em Bucks can be used on campus for photocopying, printing, laundry, and food purchases. It can also be used at some off-campus merchant locations, and for pizza delivery. It is a secure and convenient account that essentially replaces the need for students to carry cash/coins. And, when using Beak ‘Em Bucks to make a purchase, discounts may apply.
There are no refunds issued for Beak ‘Em Bucks deposits except in cases of withdrawal, transfer, or graduation from The University of Kansas. For additional information, please read the refund policy and disclosure statement available on this Web site under Policies and Procedures.
Your son or daughter can create a Guardian Account, which will allow you to make an online eCheck or credit card deposit on behalf of the student into their Beak ‘Em Bucks account. Please note that the transaction history is available to the student only, but the current balance in the account is made available to you when you make a deposit.
